The world's first hybrid unmanned transport aircraft makes its maiden flight in Chongqing
According to the 11th Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation on February 3rd, the world's first hybrid unmanned transport aircraft Rainbow was developed by it YH-1000S Recently, it successfully made its maiden flight in Liangping, Chongqing.
rainbow YH-1000S This is an important innovative exploration of the cross-border integration of core technologies between China's drone industry and automotive industry for the first time. Through deep sharing of supply chain resources and modular production, it significantly reduces the cost of drone research and development manufacturing.
This model is the successor to Rainbow in May 2025 YH-1000 After the successful maiden flight of the unmanned transport aircraft, another new model that rapidly iterates to meet the demands of global market customers was equipped with a high-power hybrid powertrain jointly developed with a leading enterprise in new energy vehicles. This significantly shortened the takeoff and landing distance, increased the load capacity and range, and successfully completed the air flight performance verification.
According to the introduction, this verification flight was conducted on the 134 kilometer route from Liangping to Wulong in Chongqing. The route continuously crossed 5 peaks with an altitude of over 1000 meters, spanning the deep canyons of the Wujiang River and the Yangtze River waterway.
The China Aerospace Aerodynamics Technology Research Institute revealed that, YH-1000 The project was initiated in June 2024 and achieved a leap from conceptual design, product manufacturing to transition flight in just 13 months.
rainbow YH-1000S The aircraft model is a large unmanned transport plane designed and developed by the 11th Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation for airworthiness standards. It can play an important role in international logistics transportation, emergency rescue and disaster reduction, weather modification, ocean monitoring, maritime supervision and other fields. (End)
